Who we are

A monitoring vendor that has been here for 13 years, and intends to stay.

Xorux was founded in October 2013 by Pavel Hampl, a UNIX systems engineer with thirty years of administration experience, gained at UBS bank and at IBM, where he designed high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures for IBM Power Systems. The company grew out of LPAR2RRD, the open-source IBM Power Systems performance monitor he had been building since 2007, and which now sits alongside XorMon and STOR2RRD in our product family.

We have grown on our own terms ever since: no venture capital, no acquisitions, no debt.

Independence is not a marketing line for us. It is what lets our customers commit to five-year infrastructure roadmaps with our software on them, without wondering whether an acquirer will retire the product, rewrite the licensing terms, or move the engineering team onto something else.

The Xorux product family

Three products. One engineering team. One philosophy.

XorMon is our modern unified platform. LPAR2RRD and STOR2RRD are still actively maintained by the very engineers who created them. All three are built in-house, at Xorux.

XorMon
The full-stack successor

A single platform covering servers, storage, SAN, LAN, containers, cloud, databases, tape and backup. It adds topology mapping, alerting, reporting and an AI assistant on top of everything the earlier tools do.

LPAR2RRD
Server, container and database monitoring

The product Xorux was born from. It tracks performance and capacity across IBM Power Systems, AIX, IBM i and the main virtualization platforms, and it is still shipped and supported today.

STOR2RRD
Storage, SAN and LAN monitoring

Performance monitoring for storage and SAN estates, across IBM, NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi, Pure Storage, Huawei, Infinidat and many other arrays.

IBM heritage

Built first for IBM Power Systems. Trusted by the largest IBM environments in the world.

Xorux was started by an engineer who had spent six years inside IBM, designing high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures for Power Systems. LPAR2RRD, our first product, was released in 2007 to fill a gap that IBM tooling left open at the time: long-term performance history and capacity planning across LPAR boundaries.

We have never left that ground. To this day, our IBM Power Systems and IBM Storage coverage goes deeper than any general-purpose monitoring platform, from AIX and VIOS to FlashSystem, DS8000, Storage Protect (TSM) and Spectrum Virtualize. If it carries an IBM logo, chances are we already integrate with it natively.

That is why our tools run in the data centres of major European and North American banks, insurers and government agencies, wherever mission-critical IBM Power Systems workloads cannot afford blind spots.

Our story

How it started

Xorux was founded by engineers who were frustrated by the limitations of closed-source monitoring tools. They wanted a solution that could go deeper without sacrificing simplicity.

From the first release of LPAR2RRD, to the full-stack evolution of XorMon, our journey has always been shaped by the needs of real infrastructure teams.
